What You Need For EV Home Charger Installation
Off-Street Parking
You’ll need a spot on your property where the car will usually charge, like a garage, carport, or driveway.
A Suitable Mounting Spot
Your charger needs a solid mounting surface close to where you park. That’s often a garage wall, an external wall, or a purpose-built post. We’ll confirm the best position during the site visit.
Enough Switchboard Capacity
Your switchboard needs to handle the extra load. In some older homes, a switchboard upgrade may be required. We’ll check this during the assessment and let you know what’s needed.
A Cable Route
The longer or more complex the cable run from the switchboard to the charger, the more involved the installation can be. We’ll measure the run on-site and recommend the most practical approach.
Renting a Property
You’ll need written landlord approval before we can install a charger. If helpful, we can provide details you can share with your landlord to support the request.
Apartments And Units
These installations usually need body corporate approval, and the charger must connect to your individual unit supply (not common property). The cable route from your meter to the parking bay can also be tricky. If you’re in a complex, get in contact with us early so we can advise on what’s realistic.
We arrange a meeting at your home or via video call. We review your vehicle and charging requirements (overnight charging, fast top-ups, multiple EVs, etc.). We assess your switchboard and power supply to confirm they can support an EV charger installation.
We develop a detailed solution for the supply and installation of your EV charger. This includes any switchboard upgrades needed to accommodate charging, integration with energy management systems or existing solar, a budget estimate for any energy retailer involvement, and detailed timing and scope of works.
All works are delivered promptly in accordance with manufacturer specifications and applicable Australian Standards. You can expect neat cable runs, professional terminations, and minimal disruption to your routine.
We walk you through our EV Charger Handover Process. This covers installation completion confirmation, how to operate the charger, maintenance requirements and recommendations, answers to frequently asked questions, and product registration with the manufacturer for warranty coverage.
All installations include customer care follow-up to ensure you’re getting the best results. We conduct a 30-day success check-up (up to 30 minutes on-site) to review the installation and confirm you’re getting the full benefits promised. We also provide ongoing quarterly energy-saving tips.

Common EV Home Charger Questions
The right home EV charger depends on your vehicle, available power supply, charger type, and how quickly you want to charge. During a site inspection, we assess your switchboard capacity, cable route, and mounting position before recommending the most suitable option.
Installation costs depend on factors like distance from the switchboard, wall type, cable run complexity, charger type, and whether electrical upgrades are required. A site inspection allows us to define the scope clearly so pricing is accurate and transparent.
Yes. A site inspection is essential to confirm electrical capacity, mounting location, safety requirements, and compliance. It also allows us to identify any upgrades needed before the installation begins.
Yes. If you have solar panels, we can integrate your EV home charger into your system and explain available solar options so you can make better use of your self-generated energy.
Often, yes. If you have a solar battery setup, we’ll assess how home charging fits within your existing system and explain how charging behaviour can be optimised.
Some chargers include a fixed charge cable, while others require a separate cable. We’ll confirm what’s included with your selected charger and ensure the setup suits your vehicle.
EV chargers draw high electrical loads and must meet strict safety standards. Professional installers ensure your system is installed correctly, safely, and in compliance with electrical regulations.
